Washington, D.C. — November 5, 2025 — The non-partisan ethics watchdog, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), has filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Conduct (OCC) urging an immediate investigation into Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) for violations of federal law and House ethics rules by failing to disclose financial information.

Under federal law and House ethics rules, members of Congress must file annual financial disclosure reports providing a full and complete accounting of their assets, debts and income, as well as periodic transaction reports for any financial transaction exceeding $1,000 within 30 to 45 days. These disclosure requirements are vital for transparency and ensuring the public can determine whether Members are acting in the public interest or for personal financial gain.

FACT’s complaint details blatant inconsistencies between Rep. Crockett’s federal and state financial disclosure filings. As a member of the Texas legislature, Crockett reported owning stock in at least 25 companies including Amazon, AstraZeneca, Exxon Mobil, Moderna and Uber, yet her federal filings covering the same period listed only three holdings. Her federal disclosures also omitted debts reported in her state filing. Publicly available stock valuations and records indicate that at least some of these undisclosed assets exceeded the $1,000 reporting limit, suggesting clear violations of federal disclosure requirements.

“When members of Congress fail to accurately and fully disclose their financial interests, it undermines the integrity of our government and erodes the public’s trust. The disclosure laws are not optional. They are essential safeguards that ensure lawmakers are not using their positions for personal financial gain. Given the inconsistencies in Rep. Crockett’s filings, an immediate investigation is warranted,” said Kendra Arnold, Executive Director of FACT.

FACT’s complaint emphasizes that financial disclosure laws exist to prevent conflicts of interest and to ensure elected officials are transparent about their financial activities especially when their private holdings may conflict with their political positions.
