FBI Refuses to Investigate Preferential Treatment
Updated: Mar 19, 2019
Today, it was reported that Justice Department officials declined an FBI request to investigate allegations that the State Department, under Hillary Clinton's leadership, gave preferential treatment to Clinton Foundation donors.
Matthew Whitaker, Executive Director of the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), and a former U.S. Attorney, made the following statement in response to this news:
“I’ve maintained from day one that as long as the Obama administration continues to carry water for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, there will be absolutely no political willpower to investigate Clinton’s repeated behavior of using the State Department as a revolving door, pay-for-play operation for top Clinton Foundation donors and the Clintons’ close friends. What’s equally disturbing is that this news comes in the wake of newly released State Department emails clearly documenting this behavior. It’s a sad day for and a grave threat to our democracy when high level officials use public resources for corrupt means, and then the government allows that behavior to go unpunished when it is exposed.”
